It's 95 degrees at 9am and a mointain lion has just cleaned out a petting zoo, or says the local newspaper.

Found this quote in ot's seattle office
.. As I'm waiting for someone to finish their call and feed me.
"Use your own best judgement at all times."
This was the only policy in nordstrom's policy book.

Clothes
In the past 24 hours I've worn a beach dress to breakfast at a victorian house, a cotton dredss for walking around, a violently purple party dress at a country manor wedding, jeans and a shirt and heels with a tight skirt with a slit to an office meeting.
I love my life.

YVR confusion
I'm at the vancouver airport this morning. I arrived here, from my hotel, at 5:45 am. It is now 6:30. That's how long it took to go through customs and security.
Throughout my time here, every time I needed to decide something, I chose the wrong option: the wrong floor to try to get the airport shuttle, the wrong door to get back into the airport, the wrong gate - I wanted us departures, not international (?) And finally, the wrong wing of the us terminal.
The designers did a great job with traffic flow: I felt like I intuitively knew where to go. Unfortuneatly, each choice was wrong.
Bring on the olympics.

So far this week...
Monday – worked from 8am – 7pm; then went shopping with Catherine for a dress to wear to the wedding next weekend
Tuesday – worked from 7-5pm; then went to see Jana at the park where I have tennis lessons (we had a picnic); then had a tennis lesson
Wednesday – worked from 7 – 5:15pm; then went to dinner with Mike and our friend Jonathan; then Mike and Jonathan went to see plays at the Fringe Festival while I volunteered
Yesterday – worked from 8am until 11pm (!); I had a break during the middle of the day: we had a BBQ and cupcakes.
I’m counting my lucky stars that my life isn’t normally this busy!

"My work is not a "drag"...
… I don’t care what you say.”
I struggle to not defend myself and my work everyday. "Don't get defensive. Just listen," is something that repeats in my head all day long. Why? Because I value feedback that makes me better. I value it more than I value my initial draft, my fantastic new idea or my flower pin.
Unfortunately, I just lost one opportunity/battle to not be defensive.
I may have suffered heavy casualties, by my pride survived.
